One of thirty imagined portraits of Adelina Joculatrix, part of my ongoing series inspired by the 1086 Domesday Book. Though compiled as a property record for tax purposes, human stories and personalities emerge from every page of Domesday. Few women are listed by profession, but Adelina was rewarded with property for her talents as a musician. I used the harlequin patterns of orizomegami to give her presence, with the palette of the landscape she was given.

One of thirty imagined portraits of Adelina Joculatrix, part of my ongoing series inspired by the medieval Domesday Book.
