A literature degree from UChicago led Maia Brown-Jackson to myriad esoteric jobs, including volunteering in Iraq with Yazidi survivors of ISIS genocide. Newly inspired, she caffeinated herself through a Master’s in terrorism and human rights, and now investigates the actual use of humanitarian aid in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Also, she writes.
