this! day!

In my artists’ book, "this! day!," I included collages made with acrylic-painted paper mounted on used paperback pages. Two of the collages have a word from the original text visible: "this!" on one and "day!" on the other. All of the collages I view broadly as landscapes. Open landscapes. Ambiguous. I see the two words as an invitation to creation. The exclamation points symbolize the excitement of possibility. What to make of your day? The words "All around" were added to further emphasize that inspiration for creative acts is everywhere.
